Mole Valley District Council and localpad

Increasing landlord engagement

Mole Valley District Council have been operating their private rented sector housing service since 2005. Over this time, they have established and developed a number of processes and working practices to deliver their service as efficiently as possible whilst ensuring a positive client experience.

The goal of the Mole Valley PRS service is to collate and manage landlord, tenant and property information to effectively deliver their housing service. This includes making sure landlords are aware and informed of current housing laws and legislation, so landlord engagement is important.

localpad met with the PRS leadership team in 2014 to introduce them to the possibilities of what could be achieved by delivering their housing service using customised, cloud-based housing software, developed specifically for their market.

From this first meeting a number of potential benefits were evident, resulting in localpad being fully adopted by November 2014. Whilst there wasn’t a need for the client facing website offered through localpad to advertise the council’s available properties, Mole Valley saw value in the communication and information management tools on offer.

Time savings were made possible due to the streamlined processes within localpad, as well as simplifying tasks such as recording Section 193 Discharge. The software provides Mole Valley with a simpler and slicker method of contacting landlords to promote their events as well as the PRS service as a whole.
